1. Purpose of this policy

At KLM UK we take your privacy seriously and look to protect the information we collect and hold about you securely.

This policy will tell you how the KLM UK Online VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) will collect and process your personal data when you access this website.

2. Collection of personal information

KLM UK Online is hosted by a third party company, Resource Initiative Training. When you access this VLE, certain information you provide will be recorded by KLM UK Online. This could include your IP address, browser type, information relating to the page you last visited and also any assessment data.

This information is used to determine a user’s use of the site, what results may have been obtained in the course assessments, to tailor the course for virtual classrooms, etc, and in the event of a breach of security, may be used to aid detection.

Where you are required under this VLE to provide personal information the uses of this data will be indicated at the point of collection.

Under the Data Protection Act, you have the right to receive a copy of the personal data we have about you.

3. Third-party access

Your personal information that you provide will not be disclosed to any third-parties, unless notified.

4. Cookies

In order to use the VLE Cookies MUST be enabled.

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device by websites that you visit. They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as provide information to the owners of the site.

Cookies cannot read your computers hard disk and cannot be read by third parties. They are used so that we can easily recognise you when you return to the website and, as a result, will enable us to provide you with a better service.

Two cookies are used by this site:

  1. The essential one is the session cookie, usually called Moodle Session. You must allow this cookie into your browser to provide continuity and maintain your login from page to page. When you log out or close the browser this cookie is destroyed (in your browser and on the server).
  2. The other cookie is purely for convenience, usually called something like MOODLEID. It just remembers your username within the browser. This means when you return to this site the username field on the login page will be already filled out for you. It is safe to refuse this cookie - you will just have to retype your username every time you log in

Links to other sites

There are some links from the VLE to other websites. These other websites are NOT covered by this statement as we do not monitor or control information collected once you enter any of these sites. For details of the treatment of your personally identifiable data collected from any of these sites (namely Youtube), please read their privacy policies or contact them.

All content located on this site shall remain vested in KLM UK Technical College, unless otherwise stated.

You may not copy, reproduce, republish, disassemble, decompile, reverse engineer, download, post, transmit, make available to the public, or otherwise use KLM UK content in any way except for your own personal non-commercial use.

Where we have linked to videos, or other media outside of the course material we have written, we look to always attribute the work to the owner of that work.

We do not permit any sharing of any of the content found within our VLE.
